Dele Alli sealed victory for England on Saturday as the Three Lions secured a 2-0 win over Sweden to qualify for the semi final of the World Cup for the first time since 1990.
The Three Lions deserved their place in the last four as they looked the more offensive throughout the 90 minutes even though Sweden threatened sporadically.
It was Harry Maguire that broke the deadlock; giving England the lead in 30th minute before Alli sealed victory for Gareth Southgate’s team just before the hour-mark.
England now move on to a last-four date with either Russia or Croatia, who meet in the remaining quarter-final clash later on Saturday.
Social media, and apparently much of England, has been abuzz with supporters claiming football (soccer) is “coming home”, there still on track indeed.
